This initiative not only provided affordable shopping options for residents but also supported local entrepreneurs by promoting their goods. The presence of local MSMEs emphasized the importance of consuming locally-produced goods, which is a key aspect of sustainable economic growth.
The owner of Windusari Arabica Coffee MSME expressed how beneficial the event was. "Acara seperti ini tentunya sangat menarik, bagi kami sebagai UMKM merasa sangat terbantu dalam memasarkan dan mempromosikan produk kami," they said.
The collaboration between UGM students and the Windusari community reflects the spirit of community service and a commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: SDG 2 Zero Hunger, by supporting community access to local food products, SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being, through morning exercises that promote active lifestyles, SDG 4 Quality Education, by introducing marketing strategies to MSMEs, and SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, by enhancing the competitiveness of local products and boosting Windusari’s local economy.
With support from FKG UGM students, it is hoped that MSMEs in Windusari District will continue to grow and become more competitive, and that the community will benefit from the positive impact of academic engagement in daily life.
