Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Indonesia (UI), and Universitas Airlangga (Unair) will host an online expert lecture via Zoom on 13 June 2024. This lecture will focus on the topic "Stages for Fixed Full Implant Prosthesis" and be led by Dr. Marwa Shembesh, BDS, MS, DScD, FACP, a leading expert in prosthodontics. The event aims to provide valuable insights into the advancements in fixed full implant prostheses, a key area in restorative dentistry, especially for patients with extensive tooth loss.
The lecture will be attended by lecturers, academic advisors from the Department of Prosthodontics at UGM, and participants of the Specialist Dentistry Education Program (PPDGS) in Prosthodontics at UGM from the 2019 to 2023 cohorts. Dr. Shembesh will discuss the technical stages involved in the fixed full implant prosthesis procedure, emphasizing the importance of a patient-centered approach and ethical considerations in dental practice.
With the goal of improving access to education in developing countries, this lecture also promotes collaboration between educational institutions and creates opportunities for students and professionals to engage in an interactive Q&A session with Dr. Shembesh. This is aimed at enriching the learning experience and strengthening the exchange of ideas among participants.
With its online format, the lecture can be accessed by a broader audience, including students, practitioners, and educators from various backgrounds, making it easier to disseminate knowledge to regions that may have previously struggled to access quality education. This event reflects the commitment of UGM, UI, and Unair to advance dental education and make a positive impact on the healthcare system in developing countries.
This lecture contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education), as part of a broader effort to advance education in developing countries. This initiative highlights the importance of sharing knowledge and collaborating between institutions to advance health and education outcomes in dentistry.
