The Dental Conservation Department of the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in the IKORGI Yogyakarta Seminar on 14 June 2024, held at the Griya Persada Convention Hotel & Resort in Kaliurang. The seminar, themed “Yogyakarta Shares Knowledge and Serves the Community in Dental Conservation,” was attended by 120 participants, including general dentists, residents, and dental conservation specialists from across Indonesia.
The seminar featured distinguished speakers who discussed various key topics. Dr. Drg. Edi Sumarwanto, MM., MHKes, presented on “Ethical Dilemmas in the Dental Conservation Specialty,” while Prof. Dr. Drg. Dian Agustin Wahjuningrum, Sp.KG., Subsp. KE(K), delivered insights on “Current Challenges and Concepts of Oval-Shaped Root Canal During One-Visit Endodontics.” Prof. Dr. Drg. Ratna Medyawati, E.H., Sp. KG., Subsp. KR(K), discussed “Recent Advances in Dentin Remineralization in Dental Conservation.”
The event aimed to deepen knowledge of dental and oral health, improve dental services for the community, and strengthen professional connections within the field of dental conservation. Participants gained valuable insights through interactive discussions and Q&A sessions with experts.
“This seminar is an opportunity to share knowledge and strengthen networks in the field of dental conservation,” stated Prof. Dr. drg. Dian Agustin Wahjuningrum.
Supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the seminar focused on advancing knowledge and service quality in healthcare and education. It is hoped that through this event, dental and oral health services will improve and public awareness will expand.
