The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Okayama University, on 30 August 2024. This MoU marks the beginning of an international collaboration aimed at advancing dental education and research at both institutions.
Bernadetha Laras Ayu, a staff member from FKG UGM’s Cooperation Unit, stated that the collaboration focuses on enhancing education and research quality through undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange programs. These programs allow students from both universities to gain learning experiences in diverse academic environments.
“This collaboration also includes joint scientific publications and research projects, with the hope of driving innovation in dental practice,” said Bernadetha.
The Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Okayama University is a multidisciplinary institution offering postgraduate programs in three main fields: medicine, dentistry, and pharmaceutical sciences. This integrated approach facilitates cross-disciplinary collaboration, enriching both education and research.
The agreement also paves the way for organizing seminars and other initiatives that will benefit both institutions and the broader community. UGM and Okayama University are committed to addressing global dental health challenges through innovative solutions. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
