Jakarta, 13 December 2024 — At the Anugerah Diktisaintek 2024 awards, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. drg. Ika Dewi Ana, a Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), was honored with the Gold Winner Academic Leader 2024 award in the health category. This prestigious recognition highlights her exceptional contributions to innovative research in dentistry and public health, significantly advancing both scientific knowledge and medical practice in Indonesia.
The Anugerah Diktisaintek 2024 awards, initiated by Kemdiktisaintek, acknowledge academics who play a pivotal role in research and technological development aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s theme, “Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” reflects a commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, particularly in the healthcare sector.
Prof. drg. Ika Dewi Ana is widely recognized as an expert in dental biomaterials, having developed several groundbreaking innovations. Two of her patented research products have received distribution licenses and are listed in the national e-catalogue:
Gama-CHA – A hydroxyapatite-based biomaterial designed for bone and dental regeneration. Its high regenerative capacity and excellent biocompatibility make it a cost-effective alternative to imported materials for treating bone fractures and hard tissue damage.
Ceraspon Hemostatic Sponge – An innovative product designed to stop bleeding quickly and effectively. With optimal blood absorption and biodegradable properties, Ceraspon has become a preferred choice in dental and oral surgeries for bleeding control.
Prof. Ika’s applied biomaterial research is now being widely used by medical professionals across Indonesia. Her strong collaboration between higher education institutions and the healthcare industry has significantly contributed to Indonesia’s self-sufficiency in health technology.
