The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) Training Unit, Interdisciplinary Dentistry Skills Development Center (iDSDC), has successfully achieved accreditation from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, 21 October 2024.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for iDSDC as a Health Training Institution that adopts an interdisciplinary approach to developing the skills of medical personnel (Named) and healthcare workers (Nakes) in the field of dentistry.
iDSDC is the first training center at FKG UGM that fosters collaboration across various disciplines. In this platform , participants from diverse backgrounds can interact and learn together, combining theory with practice in real-world clinical situations.
drg. Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, Ph.D., Head of iDSDC, stated that this accreditation is the result of continuous efforts to ensure that the education and training provided by iDSDC always meet high national standards.
“With this accreditation, we are more confident in providing standardized training programs, ensuring that our graduates are capable of delivering high-quality dental and oral healthcare services,” he said.
The programs at this Training Institution range from technical to non-technical training. These programs cover basic skills, the use of advanced technologies, and clinical procedure simulations that allow participants to master medical practices in accordance with the latest standards.
Additionally, the curriculum is designed to support strong clinical abilities and deep technical expertise to enhance the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia.
Furthermore, this accreditation from the Ministry of Health not only strengthens iDSDC's credibility at the national level but also establishes it as a reference center for quality dental training. With recognized quality assurance, this unit is ready to meet the safety and quality standards set by the government, while supporting the development of human resources in the healthcare sector, especially in dentistry.
“This accreditation is a significant step for iDSDC and FKG. We will continue to innovate and update our curriculum and facilities to keep up with technological advancements and global dental standards,” added drg. Reza.
This recognition supports iDSDC’s commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services and the welfare of the community. This step is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 4: Quality Education, which emphasize high-quality healthcare services and education.
