Exercise, Breakfast, and Gathering—this is the essence of SENSASI, a program initiated by the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The activity includes group exercise, shared breakfast, and various other programs aimed at maintaining health and strengthening camaraderie among the academic communities of FKKMK, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
Prof. Dr. dr. Denny Agustiningsih, M.Kes., AIFM, one of the initiators of the event, explained: “This gathering was initially just a breakfast to foster connections among the three faculties in the health cluster—FKKMK, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Later, to make it more exciting and healthier, we added group exercise. When the Health Promoting University (HPU) initiative was introduced, the exercise component became an integral part of the program, giving rise to SENSASI. Since UGM’s policy is to eliminate barriers between faculties, this activity is our way of opening connections among the three closest faculties.”

The SENSASI program has been running since the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. It grew out of the launch of Posbindu SEHATI in 2019 (Healthy, Prosperous, and High Quality), which then developed into a monthly routine activity rotating among the three health cluster faculties. The main goals are to exchange ideas and information. For example, at this event FKG and the Faculty of Pharmacy were invited to host a talk show. The event drew a large number of participants, coinciding with a summer course program for students from UGM’s partner universities in Indonesia and abroad. Around 300 people joined the morning exercise session, including lecturers, education staff, and students.
