FKG UGM Enhances Faculty Competence Through 3D Intraoral Scanner Training

As technology advances rapidly, it is crucial for educational institutions like the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) to continuously adapt and equip future generations with the skills necessary to navigate these changes. In response to this technological progress, FKG UGM organized a 3D Intraoral Aerakscan 3 training session, which took place in the Reading Room, 1st Floor, OECF Building on 3 September 2024. The training aimed to enhance the faculty's competence in using three-dimensional scanning technology, which is expected to enrich both teaching and clinical services.

The 3D intraoral scanner technology offers more accurate and efficient results in the diagnosis and planning of dental treatments. During the training, lecturers such as Drg. Henytaria Fajrianti, Sp.KG., Drg. Fajar Satrio, Drg. Rahmadani Puspitasari, and Drg. Iffah Mardhiyah, M.Biomed., had the opportunity to practice scanning techniques directly and learn how to read and interpret 3D data. Mastery of this technology is expected to raise the standard of dental practice both in educational settings and in clinical environments.

The Dean of FKG UGM Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., MM., Ph.Demphasized the importance of this training as part of the faculty's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological development. “We want to ensure that our lecturers are always ahead in terms of technology and innovation so they can guide students in a way that is relevant and up-to-date,” he said.

This initiative is a reflection of FKG UGM’s commitment to improving faculty competence and its dedication to sustainable development, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by focusing on innovation and teaching quality, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting the use of the latest technology in education and healthcare services.

Through this effort, FKG UGM reaffirms its commitment to continuous innovation, ensuring that its graduates are prepared to face future technological challenges.
