UGM Faculty of Dentistry Achieves Outstanding Success in WURI 2024 International Accreditation

In the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) reached an extraordinary milestone by entering the top 50 globally across various categories, surpassing several prestigious universities worldwide.

Key Achievements:

1. Entrepreneurial Spirit (Top 6 Ranking): The Faculty’s "Ge Pro" program was ranked 6th, outperforming Harvard University (ranked 12th) and the University of Oxford (ranked 13th) among 100 global universities in the entrepreneurial spirit category. This achievement highlights the Faculty's success in preparing its graduates to become innovative and solution-oriented professionals.

2. Social Responsibility (Top 9 Ranking): The Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) program of the Faculty of Dentistry UGM ranked 9th globally, surpassing New York University (ranked 12th) among 100 universities in the social responsibility category. This ranking underscore the significant role the Faculty plays in society through dental education and healthcare services.

3. Student Mobility and Openness (Top 27 Ranking): The Faculty's Summer Course Program ranked 27th out of 100 universities in the student mobility and openness category, ahead of Tokyo International University (ranked 38th). This demonstrates the Faculty's success in building international networks and providing global experiences for its students.

The WURI rankings are unique in their emphasis on the tangible impact universities have beyond conventional academic metrics. This impressive debut by the Faculty signifies that dental education in Indonesia, particularly at UGM, has achieved world-class standards in innovation, social responsibility, and global openness.

The Faculty's achievements align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequality (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

This remarkable debut has placed the Faculty of Dentistry UGM on the global map of innovative universities. As it continues its journey of excellence, the Faculty sets new benchmarks for dental education and research in Indonesia and beyond.
