The Integrated Research Laboratory of Universitas Gadjah Mada Faculty of Dentistry (FKG UGM) recently held a Refreshment Training Internal Immunohistochemistry (IHC). This two-day training, conducted on 29-30 July 2024, aimed to enhance the quality of IHC testing services and the competencies of laboratory technicians.
The workshop featured Iis Minchatus Saniyyah, an experienced expert in the field of histology from PT. Flexylab Instrument Indonesia. With her expertise, Iis shared in-depth knowledge about the latest techniques in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing.
IHC is a method used to meticulously examine body tissues by employing special substances that attach to specific parts of cells. These attachments provide color or markers that allow visualization under a microscope. “Through these examinations, we can determine if there are any abnormal or damaged cells,” said Iis.
During the workshop, participants, including lecturers, researchers, and laboratory technicians from FKG UGM, received comprehensive material. The sessions covered equipment and material introductions, demonstrations of equipment use, and hands-on practice in preparing specimens.
“This activity is very beneficial for us, especially in mastering IHC techniques more effectively,” said Ari Jimi, a laboratory technician at FKG UGM. “With this training, we can conduct IHC testing more accurately and efficiently.”
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing plays a crucial role in research within the field of dentistry. This technique allows researchers to gain deeper insights into various biological processes occurring within oral tissues.
The collaboration between FKG UGM and PT. Flexylab in organizing this workshop further strengthens the commitment of both institutions to improve the quality of services in healthcare. With this training, it is expected that the quality of IHC testing at the Integrated Research Laboratory of FKG UGM will improve, which will be highly beneficial for researchers requiring accurate and swift testing results.
