The Asian Pacific Society of Periodontology (APSP) is a leading organization focused on knowledge exchange, development, and dissemination in the field of periodontal education and research. This year, the APSP conference brought together experts and practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific region to share the latest knowledge and experiences on various important topics.
On the first day, attendees were presented with various topics related to antibiotic use in periodontal care, gingival fibromatosis management, papilla preservation techniques, gummy smiletreatment, stage IV periodontal disease, and challenges in molar dental care.
On the second day of the conference, topics included ridge augmentation, scaffold injection techniques, maintenance strategies for patients prone to periodontal disease, innovative solutions in crown lengthening, multiple recession management, laser applications, automated tooth transplantation, and autogenous soft tissue grafting.
The UGM delegation appreciated the opportunity to gain valuable insights and expand their professional network with international experts.
“Indonesia has always represented itself very well at the APSP events, especially during the discussion sessions,” praised Dr. Joseph Capetillo DMD, MS, an APSP member and host of the seminar.
UGM's active participation in APSP 2024 aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, which supports quality education, and Goal 17, which focuses on building partnerships for sustainability.
By participating in this global forum, UGM contributes to enhancing the quality of dental education and ensuring that future practitioners are well-prepared to meet the challenges of oral health care.
This participation is expected to enrich the clinical skills of the delegation and inspire the development of further research in periodontology. The insights and connections gained during the seminar will support UGM’s efforts to advance dental health practices and improve treatment outcomes for the Indonesian public.
