FKG UGM Participates in the Academic Visit and Exchange Program 2025 at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand

Bangkok, 16 December 2025 — The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) continues to expand its international network through participation in the Academic Visit and Exchange Program (AVEP) 2025, hosted by the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from 11–16 December 2025.

Based on an official invitation letter dated 7 November 2025, Chulalongkorn University confirmed the acceptance of one faculty member and two students from FKG UGM as participants in the academic exchange program. The FKG UGM delegation consisted of drg. Pramudya Aditama, MDSc., Sp.Pros, a faculty member from the Department of Prosthodontics, along with two students, Muthia Nabila and Shafa Annisa Risahondua.

AVEP is an international dental student exchange program organized by students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. The program aims to foster academic and cultural connections among dental students from various countries through a series of academic activities and cultural immersion programs.

Throughout the program, participants took part in clinical visits, dental demonstrations and workshops, faculty and teaching hospital tours, academic lectures, international team discussions, as well as cultural exchange activities and city tours around Bangkok.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University , is widely recognized as one of the leading dental education institutions in Asia. It ranks first in Thailand, 14th in Asia, and 59th globally. Through this program, participants were expected to gain new insights into educational technologies, clinical approaches, and international dental healthcare service models.

FKG UGM’s participation in AVEP 2025 is considered strategic in enhancing the competencies of both faculty members and students through exposure to different academic cultures. In addition to enriching academic perspectives, this international experience is expected to strengthen students’ soft skills, including cross-cultural communication, independence, adaptability, and teamwork in international settings.

AVEP is an annual program with a limited number of participants. In 2025, the program accepted only 40 dental students from around the world, selected through essay and video profile submissions, with a maximum quota of two students per faculty. In addition to Indonesia, participants came from the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, and the United States.

Looking ahead, the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University University, also expressed its intention to continue welcoming FKG UGM students for short visits and other academic collaborations as part of strengthening international cooperation in the field of dentistry.
