Yogyakarta, December 10, 2025 — The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), convened its 2025 Management Review Meeting (RTM) as part of its annual quality evaluation and strategic planning process. The meeting was attended by faculty leadership, department heads, and program coordinators from undergraduate, professional, specialist, and postgraduate levels.
During the meeting, each academic program presented follow-up actions on findings from the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) and outlined strategic plans to enhance educational quality.
Curriculum Improvement and Strengthening of Flipped Learning
The Undergraduate Dentistry Program emphasized the need for curriculum restructuring to prevent content overlap and to enhance the implementation of flipped learning. A curriculum workshop is scheduled for December 16 as a step toward aligning undergraduate and professional program content.
Professional Program Launches Integrated Soft Skills Modules
The Professional Program reported the successful implementation of soft skills courses covering digital photography, personal branding, emergency response, and digital literacy. Positive student feedback has encouraged further development of these modules in the coming year. Integration of academic data systems with the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) is also targeted for improvement in 2026.
Human Resource Needs and Digital Dentistry in Specialist Programs
Specialist programs highlighted the need for additional consultants and digital dentistry equipment, including 3D scanners, 3D printers, and CAD/CAM software. In response, the faculty plans to establish a cross-program digital dentistry working group and integrate these needs into the master plan for the new faculty building.
Strengthening Research and Collaboration
The research division emphasized the importance of increasing external grant acquisition and research collaboration. The faculty will provide proposal mentoring and strengthen cross-departmental research ecosystems.
Strategic Directions of FKG UGM
Faculty leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic quality, aligning policies with regulatory changes, accelerating digital transformation, and preparing human resources and infrastructure to support the demands of modern dental education.
