FKG UGM and PT Pagilaran Establish Cooperation to Improve Community Dental Health

The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) officially established a partnership with PT Pagilaran on 5 March 2024. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to enhance public awareness of dental and oral health through innovative community service programs.

This collaboration is part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which serves as the foundation for the execution of education, research, and community service within the academic environment. One of the main focuses of this partnership is the establishment of a teaching industry platform that allows the academic community of FKG UGM to engage directly in activities at PT Pagilaran.

The teaching industry will serve as a platform for FKG UGM students and faculty to participate in interactive outreach activities and dental check-ups for both PT Pagilaran employees and the surrounding community. This program not only aims to improve knowledge and awareness of dental and oral health but also provides free health check-up services, thus enhancing the quality of life in the community.

Through this collaboration, FKG UGM hopes to make a tangible contribution to improving dental and oral health. Furthermore, this program provides an opportunity for students to apply their learned knowledge while enhancing their skills in delivering professional health services.

PT Pagilaran is part of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), actively fulfilling the mission of the tri dharma of higher education to sustain the tea and cocoa plantation industry in Indonesia through various scientific research conducted by students, faculty, and researchers, as well as empowering the National Core People's Plantation (PIR) farmers.

The signing of this MoU is a strategic step for both parties in supporting the development of education and health in Indonesia. The collaboration also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), number 4 (Quality Education), and number 17 (Partnership for the Goals)
