FKG UGM and Ministry of Health Collaborate on the National Action Plan for Oral Health 2024-2030

Jakarta, 16 October 2024 – Lecturers from the Department of Preventive Dentistry and Community Oral Health (IKGM), Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), participated in a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD., Ph.D., to finalize the National Action Plan (RAN) for Oral Health 2024-2030. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Health's office, saw the IKGM department team serve as representatives chosen by WHO Indonesia to support the formulation of a National Policy on Oral Health.   

The meeting was attended by several FKG UGM lecturers, including drg. Lisdrianto Hanindriyo, MPH., Ph.D., Dr. drg. Julita Hendrartini, M.Kes., and drg. Achmad ZamZam Aghasy, M.Kes., who participated in discussions regarding the indicators to be implemented in the RAN for Oral Health over the next six years. The Deputy Minister of Health provided guidance on strengthening targets and justifying the achievement of these indicators as part of efforts to support oral health improvement across Indonesia. 

This National Action Plan is expected to serve as a robust guideline for relevant ministries in achieving more inclusive and structured health objectives. The initiative also indirectly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
