The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with IKORGI Yogyakarta, organized a community service event on 15 June 2024, at the Asy-Syafi'iyah Islamic Boarding School in Girikerto, Turi, Sleman. The event was part of a seminar themed “Yogyakarta Shares Knowledge and Serves the Community in Dental Conservation.”
Members of IKORGI from various regions across Indonesia, along with faculty and dental residents from UGM's Faculty of Dentistry, participated in this initiative. Throughout the event, participants received free dental and oral health services, including consultations, examinations, endodontic treatments, restorative care, and smile makeovers.
“This community service aims to improve dental and oral health services while raising awareness of the importance of early dental care,” said Dr. Drg. Yulita Kristanti, M.Kes., Sp.KG (K), Head of the Department of Dental Conservation at UGM Faculty of Dentistry.
The activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), focusing on enhancing dental and oral health services and preventive care awareness. Through this initiative, the community is expected to experience direct benefits and gain an understanding of the importance of dental health. This event reflects the commitment of dental professionals to positively contribute to community well-being.
