The Prosthodontics Study Program of the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Wednesday, 14 August 2024, at UC Hotel UGM. The event was attended by lecturers, residents, and relevant staff.
This FGD aimed to refine the strategic plan (Renstra) and curriculum of the Prosthodontics Program to align with global competency standards and address the rapid advancements in dental science. This discussion followed a previous FGD held in March 2024, where feedback from students, alumni, and stakeholders was gathered as the foundation for drafting the documents.
Through this FGD, the Prosthodontics Program aims to produce an updated strategic plan, a curriculum aligned with the latest scientific developments, and an effective and efficient implementation plan. This initiative is expected to produce competent graduates who can compete globally.
Chair of the Prosthodontics Department, Drg. Murti Indrastuti, M.Kes., Sp.Pros(K), stated in her opening remarks: “We must adapt to technological and scientific advancements to remain competitive globally. The experiences and input shared here will be considered in updating our curriculum and strategic plan. Hopefully, this initiative will advance the Prosthodontics Department at FKG UGM.”
This initiative aligns with SDGs SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education), emphasizing the importance of high-quality education in developing future generations. By focusing on curriculum development and relevant strategies, FKG UGM remains committed to supporting the advancement of higher education, particularly in dentistry.
