UGM Faculty of Dentistry Excels in All Aspects

On Wednesday, 17 November 2021, Universitas Gadjah Mada held the 2021 Insan Berprestasi Awards. This event was conducted in a blended format for the second time. After being held in the Balairung Courtyard last year, this year's event took place in the Auditorium of the Grha Sabha Pramana Building. With strict health protocols in place, the event was attended by university leaders, organ leaders, deans, directors, and award recipients. The Dean of the UGM Faculty of Dentistry, drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., was also present at the event.

This event is one of UGM's ways to appreciate its academic community members who are outstanding, inspiring, and innovative. The awards are not limited to university members; alumni are also recognized. Several award nominations were won by the UGM Faculty of Dentistry academic community, including:

  1. Outstanding Alumnus Award in the 2021 Pioneer of Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost Regions category was given to drg. Muhammad Hirzi Nugraha.

drg. Muhammad Hirzi Nugraha is a 2017 alumnus of the UGM Faculty of Dentistry. He is actively involved in programs to improve access and quality of healthcare in Disadvantaged, Border, and Archipelago Areas (DTKP) and Health Problematic Areas (DBK). He also won the Top 10 Best Works award at the Indonesia Healthcare Innovation Awards/IHIA V-2021 in the "Medical Devices" category.

  1. Winner of the Learning Innovation (MOOCs) Category through eLOK was awarded to drg. Elastria Widita, M.Sc., Ph.D.

drg. Elastria Widita, M.Sc., Ph.D., is an alumnus of the UGM Faculty of Dentistry and is currently a lecturer in the Dentistry Study Program. Her research is titled "Optimization of Blended and Flipped Learning Methods in the Dental Instrumentation Course."

  1. Second Best Winner in the 2021 Inspiring Non-Academic Staff (Archivist) Category was awarded to Fidya Alfian Rahmawati, A.Md.

Fidya Alfian Rahmawati, A.Md., has been a staff member in the UGM Faculty of Dentistry's Archival Department since 2010. Some of her works have been published in the FORSIPAGAMA magazine, including "Archives as Consideration Materials, not to be 'Weighed'" and "Why You Should be an Archivist?" Both were published in 2021.

  1. Outstanding Student Award Winner of the Gold Medal Presentation at the 34th National Student Scientific Week 2021 was given to Aini Hasibah Ningtyas and her team.

In their presentation, Aini Hasibah Ningtyas and her team discussed AEROJECT: An Innovation of Integrated Aerosol Suction Devices with Saliva Suction Systems for Dental Units to Assist Dentists During the Pandemic. The gold medal-winning team members are Aini Hasibah Ningtyas (Faculty of Dentistry, 2019), Selcaria Istna Datau (Faculty of Dentistry, 2020), Kholid Ibnu Falah (Faculty of Engineering, 2019), and Defit Tri Hantoro (Faculty of Engineering, 2020), under the guidance of Drg. Nur Rahman Ahmad Seno Aji, MDSc., Sp.Perio.

These achievements further affirm the vision of UGM Faculty of Dentistry as a world-class, excellent, and innovative faculty, dedicated to the nation's interests and humanity, inspired by cultural values and professionalism based on Pancasila. They also support the mission of UGM Faculty of Dentistry to provide education, research, community service, and professional services in dental and oral health, as well as the preservation of superior, beneficial, and globally oriented knowledge.
