The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) successfully held the Niken Memorial Scholarship (NiMS) Award 2024 on Wednesday, 18 December 2024. The event was attended by lecturers from the Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program, including Professor Drg. Sri Kuswandari, MS, Sp.KGA(K-KKA), an alumna of Tokushima University.
This award ceremony was dedicated to honoring the legacy of Professor Niken, a highly respected figure at FKG UGM who played a significant role in encouraging lecturers to pursue further education at international universities. The NiMS Award is presented to students and lecturers who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and a strong commitment to community service, reflecting Professor Niken’s dedication to fostering a culture of academic excellence.
In her speech, Professor Kuswandari expressed her gratitude for this opportunity and emphasized the importance of education for future sustainability. "Investing in education is key to shaping future leaders in dentistry and healthcare," she stated. Professor Kuswandari also highlighted how the Niken Memorial Scholarship Award aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education and partnerships for sustainable development.
