For over 75 years, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) has actively contributed to improving community welfare through the implementation of the university's three pillars of education, research, and community service. A comprehensively designed curriculum, supported by clinical practice in hospitals, has successfully produced competent dental graduates who are prepared to meet the challenges of the profession.
FKG UGM has established strategic partnerships with various hospitals through the Prof. Soedomo Dental and Oral Hospital in Yogyakarta. This collaboration aims to support the educational process for students pursuing the Dentist Profession Program and the Specialist Dental Education Program.
The collaboration with these network hospitals is designed to meet patient care needs and provide opportunities for field practice, internships, and clinical rotations for students. This initiative aligns with Government Regulation No. 93 of 2015 on Teaching Hospitals, Law No. 20 of 2023 on National Education, Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, and UGM Rector Regulation No. 2 of 2023 on Education.
Furthermore, the partnerships with educational network hospitals are also based on Law No. 20 of 2003 on National Education, Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, and UGM Rector Regulation No. 2 of 2023 on Education. These regulations serve as guidelines for implementing education in higher education institutions.

Bernadetha Laras Ayu, a staff member of the Cooperation Unit at FKG UGM, stated that the collaboration between FKG UGM and various network hospitals has significantly impacted the quality of dental education. Clinical rotations in network hospitals are one form of implementing this cooperation.
"With these rotations, students can gain access to various clinical cases, enabling them to develop competencies that align with professional standards," said Berna.
