Yogyakarta, 29 November 2025 — After 20 years of following their own individual paths, alumni of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), Class of 2005 finally reunited at the campus where they once grew and learned together. Emotions of warmth, laughter, and nostalgia filled the air as alumni began arriving for the reunion held on 29–30 November 2025.
What made this reunion special was not only the joy of reconnecting or sharing memories, but also a sincere intention to give back to their alma mater. The alumni collectively raised an Educational Scholarship Donation totaling IDR 30,002,005—a unique figure symbolizing the unity of the Class of 2005.
The funds were collected through voluntary contributions from alumni who attended the event, as well as those living outside the city and abroad. “We want future generations to feel the support that perhaps we did not fully have in the past,” said drg. Fimma Naritasari, MDSc, one of the Class of 2005 alumni.

In addition, the alumni planted mango trees within the FKG UGM campus area. The mango tree was chosen for its symbolic meaning: it grows slowly, develops strong roots, and eventually bears fruit to be enjoyed together—reflecting the life journey of the alumni themselves.
The reunion atmosphere became even more complete with the presence of families—spouses, children, and even toddlers running around between activities. Nearly 100 people filled the campus, creating a warm atmosphere that felt like “coming home.”

Some alumni are now faculty members at FKG UGM, which helped facilitate the organization of the reunion. Others traveled as far as Malaysia to reunite with their classmates. These moments demonstrated that distance and time have not diminished the friendships formed since 2005.
In her remarks, the Chair of POTMAGI, Prof. Dr. drg. Siti Sunarintyas, M.Kes, expressed her appreciation for the educational donation that will be provided to students in need. It is hoped that contributions like these will continue in the years to come.
The 20-Year Reunion of FKG UGM Class of 2005 was not only about remembering the past, but also about nurturing the future—for both the alumni and the generations who will follow in their footsteps.
