A representative lecturer from the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), Dr. Drg. Tunjung Nugraheni, M.Kes., Sp.KG(K), attended an exclusive training titled “Hands-On Training on Management of Root Canal Blockage and Apical Periodontitis” on 17 November 2024. The training was led by Dr. Antonis Chaniotis, a renowned endodontic expert from Greece, and provided a significant opportunity for dental professionals to deepen their knowledge of advanced techniques for managing complex root canal cases.
Participants learned innovative methods for handling curved and branched root canals and cases with blockages caused by calcification and ledging. The hands-on session, using dental models, provided practical experience in creating glide paths, clearing canal blockages, and ensuring successful treatment of apical periodontitis. With its comprehensive training agenda, Dr. Tunjung gained new insights into managing various clinical challenges in endodontics.
"This experience broadened my perspective on handling complex endodontic cases while also providing opportunities to share knowledge with practitioners from different countries," said Dr. Tunjung.
Dr. Tunjung Nugraheni's participation in this training reflects FKG UGM's commitment to enhancing the competencies of its lecturers and dental specialists. The knowledge gained from this training is expected to enrich clinical practice and education at FKG UGM while strengthening the institution’s contribution to innovation and excellence in conservative dentistry.
