Faculty of Dentistry UGM Lecturers Participate in World Oral Health Day 2024

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), held a community service event on 2 April 2024 to commemorate World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2024. This community service activity took place at KB RA Baiturrohmah, Sleman. The Department of Biomaterials and Dentistry (IBKG) sent three representatives, Prof. Dr. Drg. Siti Sunarintyas, M.Kes., Dr. drg. Dyah Irnawati, MS, and drg. Mutiara Annisa, MDSc, to actively participate in this event.

With the theme “A Healthy Smile for a Healthy Life,” the event focused on education and prevention to raise awareness of the importance of oral health. FKG UGM lecturers and students provided dental check-ups and conducted a session on proper oral health practices for the students. Additionally, toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed for free to encourage students to maintain good oral hygiene.

Drg. Mutiara Annisa, MDSc, explained that the event was crucial for raising public awareness, especially among schoolchildren. "Oral health plays a vital role in overall health. Through this event, we hope the community better understands the importance of regular dental care and early prevention of dental issues," she said.
