Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again achieved international recognition. Rieski Prihastuti, S.Kp.G., MPH, a lecturer from the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) UGM, received the prestigious AAPD-SPDHK Award (Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry - Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong) at the 16th International Conference of the Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry (AAPD 2024) held at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 18-19 November 2024.
This award was granted in recognition of her significant contribution through her research titled, “Effect of an Educational Intervention on Oral Hygiene Behavior: A Randomized Controlled Trial.” The study explores how effective educational interventions can positively influence oral hygiene behavior, particularly among young adults.
AAPD 2024 gathered experts in Preventive Dentistry from across Asia and beyond, focusing on the latest innovations in preventing dental and oral diseases. This achievement underscores the commitment of Indonesian academics to contributing to global goals through impactful research.
With this success, Rieski Prihastuti hopes to continue fostering collaborations and inspiring further research that not only benefits the national level but also contributes to addressing global health challenges.
Her accomplishment serves as an inspiration for academics and young researchers, reinforcing Indonesia's contribution to the global effort for a healthier and more sustainable world.
