Faculty members from the Department of Dental Conservation at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a patent award for their innovation of a chitosan-based mouthwash on 21 February 2024. The award was presented at the Yogyakarta State University campus by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Prof. drg. Diatri Nari Ratih, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.KG Subsp. KE (K), drg. Henytaria Fajrianti, Sp.KG, and drg. Andina Widyastuti, Sp.KG Subsp KR (K) were involved in the development of this innovation. “This innovation is the result of in-depth research in the field of chitosan, and we are proud to contribute significantly to oral health technology,” said Prof. Diatri. The award recognizes advancements in the development of health products based on research.
This event marks an important milestone in the field of innovation and health technology. The patent certificate was handed over directly by the DGIP team, affirming this achievement as a significant step forward in the healthcare industry.
