The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) successfully hosted the annual dental competition “Depa’s Infection 14,” which saw participation from 89 teams from various regions across Indonesia. This competition is an initiative of Denta Paramitha, a Semi-Autonomous Body within FKG UGM. One of its flagship sub-events, the Basic Dental Olympiad (OKGD), is aimed at high school students across Indonesia.
The OKGD series began with an online preliminary round on 3 August 2024, followed by the quarter-finals on 10 August, and the semi-finals on 24 August, conducted in-person. The competition culminated in the finals and grand finals on 25 August, where the top three teams emerged as champions. The team from SMA BPK Penabur Bandung secured first place, followed by SMA 9 Yogyakarta in second, and SMA Kolese De Britto Yogyakarta in third.
The Chairperson of the event, Lulita Nora, expressed her gratitude for the high enthusiasm among participants during her remarks. “I hope that in the coming years, Depa’s Infection will continue to improve,” she stated. The competition aims to provide a platform for high school students interested in dentistry while fostering a spirit of competition and innovation among participants.
