The Department of Dental Conservation at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), held its annual Syawalan event at Tjokro Style Hotel, Yogyakarta, on 4 May 2024. The event aimed to strengthen social relationships and celebrate togetherness after the month of Ramadan.
The event began with a welcome speech from Dr. drg. Yulita Kristanti, M.Kes., Sp.KG (K), Head of the Department of Dental Conservation at FKG UGM, who greeted all attendees. “This Syawalan is a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds between faculty, students, and educational staff in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere,” said Dr. Yulita. Ustadz Suyanto Kirun then delivered a lecture on the spiritual and social significance of Syawalan.
All faculty staff, educational personnel, and students from the dental conservation specialist education program of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 batches, along with their families, attended this event. The Syawalan not only reaffirms spiritual and cultural values but also enhances gratitude and togetherness among members of the academic community.
This event serves as a momentum to build and strengthen harmonious relationships outside the academic context, promoting a spirit of togetherness and solidarity within the FKG UGM community.
