The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) is delighted to celebrate the achievement of Dr. drg. Ananto Ali Alhasyimi, MDSc, Sp.Ort., Subsp. DDTK (K) has earned the consultant specialist title in Dentocraniofacial Growth Disharmony (DDTK). This achievement reflects Dr. Ananto’s extraordinary dedication to his academic career and research.
Drg. Ananto is well-known as a dentist and lecturer who has actively published research in renowned international journals such as Scopus over the past five years. Some of his latest publications include studies on "Post-orthodontic relapse prevention through administration of a novel synthetic carbonated hydroxyapatite–chitosan hydrogel derived from blood cockle shell" (2024), "Potential of 10% propolis-based toothpaste on the inhibition of biofilm-forming bacteria growth in vitro" (2024), and "Effectiveness of the attachment design and thickness of clear aligners during orthodontic anterior retraction: finite element analysis" (2024)—additionally, Drg. Ananto has been involved in a case report on "Open surgical exposure of two horizontally impacted maxillary incisors combined with orthodontic treatment: A case report" (2024). In 2022, Dr. Ananto led a DIKTI PDUPT grant research titled “Development of nano carbonate apatite-simvastatin emulsion as a material to prevent orthodontic relapse.” He has also received various awards, including first place in the Oral Presentation Competition Case Report Category at the 4th International Conference Brawijaya Dentistry and first place in the Poster Presentation Case Report Category at the 15thdonesian Association of Orthodontist Annual MeetingIn 2023, Dr. Ananto was honored as the 1st Runner-Up Inspirational Lecturer. In 2024, Drg. Ananto successfully treated an interdisciplinary orthognathic surgery case in collaboration with the oral surgery program, achieving excellent treatment outcomes.
This accomplishment reflects Drg. Ananto’s dedication to advancing orthodontic science and dentofacial care inspires many young professionals in the field of dentistry. His achievements also align with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
Through his significant contributions to dental and oral health, Dr. Ananto is helping to improve community health and well-being. He plays a crucial role in producing high-quality and innovative medical professionals and supporting quality education through his teaching and mentoring. Moreover, his innovative orthodontics research endorses better medical infrastructure development.
