Recently, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) conducted an outreach and evaluation activity for village cadres in Tlogopucang Village, Kandangan Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province, on Saturday (02/03).
This activity was part of the Community Service program in celebration of the 76th Anniversary of FKG UGM, themed “Harmony in Diversity: Building Synergy in Society 5.0.” The academic community of FKG UGM, including lecturers, administrative staff, and students, were actively involved in this service activity
The outreach event was held at the Tlogopucang Legend Sports Hall (GOR), starting at 9:00 a.m. WIB until completion, with support from stakeholders stakeholder including the Tlogopucang Village Government, Kandangan Health Center (Puskesmas), and the Indonesian Dentists Association (PDGI) Temanggung branch. The material presented focused on ways to maintain oral and dental health. Through this outreach, the residents of Tlogopucang Village are expected to become more aware of their oral health. If the community is aware of the importance of oral and dental health and is able to maintain good oral hygiene, the overall health level of the community will also improve.
In addition to the outreach, FKG UGM also evaluated the village and school cadres previously appointed. This evaluation aims to ensure that these cadres can continue to play an active role in preventive and promotive oral health efforts in their village, ultimately fostering a self-reliant and empowered community, especially in the field of health, in line with the goals set out in Sustainable Development Goals (pilar Good Health and Well-Being, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Partnerships for the Goals).
