FKG UGM conducted a benchmarking visit to the headquarters of Universitas Terbuka (UT) in Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang, on Monday, 24 November 2025. This activity aimed to strengthen academic governance, distance learning systems, and adaptive information technology management in response to developments in digital education.
The FKG UGM delegation was led by the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., Ph.D., and the Head of the Master’s Program in Dental Sciences, Prof. Dr. drg. Juni Handajani, M.Kes., Ph.D. Also in attendance were the Head of the Administrative Office, Heads of Academic and Student Affairs Working Teams, Heads of Finance and General Administration Working Teams, and representatives from the Academic, Finance, and Information Technology teams of FKG UGM.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Muhammad Rif’an, S.T., M.T., Director of Information Systems at Universitas Terbuka. He expressed appreciation for the visit and emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in developing inclusive, adaptive, and technology-based learning systems. He also highlighted UT’s commitment to building an internationally standardized distance learning ecosystem through technological innovation and strong governance.

The Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., stated that this benchmarking visit provided a strategic opportunity for FKG UGM to learn best practices in distance learning management, an area in which UT has established excellence. He emphasized that UT’s experience would be highly beneficial in supporting FKG UGM’s efforts to strengthen academic systems, digitalize services, and develop technology-based hybrid learning.

The event continued with presentations on governance and operational systems for distance education delivered by three UT speakers. Information Technology topics were presented by Dr. Muhammad Rif’an, S.T., M.T.; Hybrid Learning was presented by Dimas Agung Prasetyo, S.Kom., M.Sc., Head of the Learning Management Center; and Financial Management was presented by Hendrawan Bayu Wicaksono, S.E., M.Ak., Financial and Accounting Expert Staff. Through interactive discussions, both institutions exchanged experiences regarding learning strategies, technological capacity enhancement, and optimization of digital-based administrative services.
This benchmarking activity is expected to strengthen networks and open opportunities for further collaboration between FKG UGM and Universitas Terbuka, particularly in the development of innovative education responsive to the needs of the digital era.
