"Every Turn of the Wheel Is an Act of Worship“

The inaugural book discussion of The Elite Guardian by Abitoni, featuring Wisnu Budi Ardianto, SE, on April 9, 2026, raised a crucial issue regarding the role of a “leader’s guardian” from the perspective of transportation and executive mobility support. Abitoni is the personal driver of the Dean of FKG UGM. With his upright posture and warm smile, few would expect that behind his humble appearance lies the author of The Elite Guardian, a book inspired by his daily experiences as the Dean’s driver at FKG UGM. Through the book, many untold stories are revealed—stories hidden within the rhythm of conversations inside the Dean’s car cabin. From casual discussions to national issues, countless exchanges took place within that confined space, all governed by ethics and discretion that he carefully upheld. Abitoni emphasized that being an executive driver is not merely about driving wherever orders direct him. More importantly, it is about integrity and trust—values that cannot be bought or traded under any circumstances. Currently pursuing studies in taxation, Abitoni delivered his presentation in a relaxed and humorous manner, drawing laughter from both offline and online participants. The event, which featured several speakers and attendees from various backgrounds, unfolded in a dynamic discussion atmosphere. Abitoni explored the meaning of “guardian” not only as a protector, but also as a symbol of integrity, ethics, and honesty in social life.
One participant highlighted that the concept of a “guardian” has undergone a shift. In the past, the role was largely carried out by institutions such as the media and academia. Today, however, that responsibility increasingly falls upon individuals.
The event aimed to encourage participants to critically reflect on current social conditions while fostering awareness of the importance of active public engagement in literacy—not only reading, but also writing.
The discussion concluded with a question-and-answer session that demonstrated the participants’ strong enthusiasm for the issues raised. The book is currently in the ISBN registration process.
