Iduladha 2024: FKG UGM Sacrifices 2 Cows and 1 Goat

To celebrate this year's Idul Adha, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) carried out a sacrificial ritual by slaughtering two cows and one goat. The sacrifice was made by the faculty's lecturers and educational staff. The event took place at FKG UGM on 18 June 2024.

Drg. Fadyl Yunizar, Chair of the Islamic Communication Forum at FKG UGM, expressed his hope that this sacrificial activity would bring blessings, particularly for FKG UGM, and benefit the community.

"We hope this activity not only brings blessings to us at FKG UGM but also provides significant benefits to the community around us, especially those in need," said Fadyl.

The sacrificial animals were slaughtered following Islamic law: the animals were laid down, then slaughtered, cut into smaller parts, weighed, and distributed.

Three hundred twenty boxes of sacrificial meat were distributed to the internal community of FKG UGM, Prof. Seodomo Dental and Oral Hospital, and several needy areas such as Klaten, Kulon Progo, and Condongcatur.

This sacrificial activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and Goal 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals). Through this activity, FKG UGM demonstrates its commitment to supporting community welfare and health and building beneficial partnerships.
