Christia Aye Waindy Vega, S.Kp.G., MDSc, is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Biomedicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM). She currently teaches undergraduate students in the Dental Hygiene Study Program FKG UGM. Christia completed her Bachelor of Dental Nursing (S.Kp.G) in 2013 from FKG UGM and obtained her Master of Dental Science (MDSc.) in 2019 from FKG UGM. Her education since the undergraduate level reflects her commitment to learning and research in dentistry.
As a lecturer in the Dental Hygiene Study Program, she delivers in-depth material to students and is actively involved in scientific research. Her research interests focus on investigating the linkage between oral and systemic conditions, with the fields of study related to oral health behavior, nutrition behavior, nutrition, physical fitness, oral hygiene, and oral health outcomes. Her research aligns with the research roadmap set by the Faculty and Dental Hygiene Study Program, which targets vulnerable populations, such as older people, preschool children, and school-age children.
She is not only active in the academic environment, but she also acts as an agent of change in community service activities. In 2023, she joined an interdisciplinary community service team that won a Community Fund Grant from DPKM UGM with the theme of service Optimizing the Role of the Community through the Development of Community-Based Health Efforts (UKBM) Towards an Independent Village.
She is currently the Head of the Health Promotion Division of HPU (Health Promoting University) Senyum FKG UGM. In this role, she and her team actively promote health, empower student communities, and foster a culture of health within the campus environment. With dedication to academics, research, and community service, she becomes an inspirational figure contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the well-being of the community.
