Dr. drg. Rurie Ratna Shantiningsih, MDSc, is a lecturer and researcher serving as an Associate Professor specializing in Dental Radiology within the Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta with a primary focus on Dental Radiation Protection. Currently, she has been undergoing residency training in dental radiology specialization at Universitas Airlangga since 2022. Dr. Rurie Ratna's educational journey began in 2002 when she earned her dentist profession degree (drg.), followed by pursuing a Master's degree from 2006 to 2008, culminating in a Master of Dental Science (MDSc.). Shortly after, she pursued her Doctoral degree (Dr.) from 2010 to 2014.

Since 2021, Dr. Rurie Ratna has consistently participated in local research grants from the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM. She also received national research grants in 2018. Over the years, Dr. Rurie Ratna has contributed several scientific works, including publications in nationally accredited and internationally indexed journals. Besides publications, she has also developed copyrighted educational videos, and one of her research outcomes was patented in 2020 under the title "Sedian Patch Gingiva Mukoadesif B-Carotene."

In managerial roles, Dr. drg. Rurie Ratna Shantiningsih, MDSc. has served as the Head of the Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Department from 2011 to 2020, Secretary of the Professional Dental Education Program at FKG UGM from 2011 to 2022, and as the Head of the Study Program since 2022. She is actively involved in various professional organizations such as the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), the Dental Radiology Association (IKARGI), and the International Association of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (IADMFR).

Dr. drg. Rurie Ratna Shantiningsih, MDSc, also makes time for regular physical activities such as yoga, swimming, and occasional jogging.
