Thesis Writing

The thesis is a scientific work containing one's own research results, not compilations or lecture materials or library searches. The thesis topic, like a seminar, falls under dental branches and must be taken from compulsory courses of interest and must align with the field of study under the guidance of the thesis advisor.

The thesis work in the Bachelor's Program aims to ensure that students at the end of their studies can:

  1. Master the scientific basics, knowledge, and methodology of a specific field of expertise, so they can discover, understand, explain, and formulate solutions within their expertise.
  2. Master the scientific basics to think, act, and behave like a scientist.
  3. Follow the development of knowledge and technology in their field in the form of a scientific work.

To enroll in the thesis course, students must meet academic requirements as specified in the Dean's Decision of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, regarding the thesis. Basically, students intending to take the thesis must fill out the Study Plan (KRS) attached to the Thesis Guidance and Monitoring Card provided by the Thesis Administrator. KRS without this card will not be processed. The thesis guidance process is entirely entrusted to the Thesis Advisor.
