BKGN 2025 Officially Launched: Unilever–Pepsodent and FKG UGM Target 690 Community Members Served

Yogyakarta, 1 December 2025 — The National Dental Health Month (BKGN) 2025 was officially launched at the Educational Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGMP) of Universitas Gadjah Mada, marking the 16th year of Indonesia’s largest dental health program. The opening ceremony was attended by FKG UGM leadership, representatives of PDGI, and representatives of Unilever Indonesia as the program’s main partner.

In his remarks, Area Sales Manager Unilever Yogyakarta, Hairul Fuad, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the BKGN program, which continues to be implemented through strong collaboration between Pepsodent–Unilever Indonesia, PDGI, the Indonesian Association of Dental Faculties (AFDOKGI), and the Association of Educational Dental and Oral Hospitals of Indonesia (ARSGMPI).

“We feel very honored to once again be part of the BKGN kick-off activities at FKG and RSGM UGM. As a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company that has been present alongside Indonesian families for 91 years, Unilever, through the Pepsodent brand, is committed to making a positive impact on society, particularly through education and dental and oral health services,” he said.

Focus on Gum Health, the Second Most Common ‘Silent Killer’ in Indonesia

BKGN 2025 carries the theme “Free Dental and Gum Check-Ups, Worry-Free, Hassle-Free,” in line with the 2025 National Dental Health Day theme, “Healthy Teeth and Gums, a Great Indonesian Smile.” This year, the program emphasizes increasing awareness of gum disease, which is the second most prevalent dental health problem after caries.

“Gum disease is often overlooked and is known as a silent killer. If left untreated, it not only affects oral health but can also impact overall body health,” Hairul emphasized.

In response to this urgency, BKGN 2025 aims to provide free dental and gum examinations and treatments to 28,000 people across all dental faculties and educational dental hospitals in Indonesia.

Educational Programs in 55 Cities and Appreciation for Health Workers

In addition to clinical services, BKGN 2025 will conduct dental and gum health education programs for school students in 55 cities in collaboration with PDGI branches and expand educational campaigns through social media platforms.

Through Pepsodent, Unilever Indonesia also expressed appreciation to more than 30,000 dentists and dental students who have contributed to the success of BKGN over the past 15 years.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to all dentists, students, PDGI, and dental education institutions that have been an integral part of BKGN for many years,” Hairul said.

Hopes for a Healthier Indonesia

At the end of his remarks, Hairul invited all participants to collaborate in creating an Indonesian society that is more aware of the importance of dental and gum health.

“Enjoy the BKGN 2025 activities. May together we achieve healthier teeth and gums, so that Indonesia’s smile becomes even healthier and more admirable,” he concluded.
