FKG UGM Dean’s Hearing: Synergy, Growing and Developing Together with Students

The FKG UGM Dean’s Hearing was a forum for shared aspirations between lecturers and students regarding academic policies, facilities and infrastructure, and academic governance on Monday, 28 July 2025. The Dean of FKG UGM, along with the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets and Human Resources, the Manager of Student Affairs, the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration, the Head of the Education and Research Division of RSGM, as well as several FKG UGM lecturers, attended the session together with the Student Executive Board (BEM KM) of FKG UGM.

The Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for students who are actively engaged in organizations and serve as a bridge of communication between students and the Faculty of Dentistry UGM management.

According to a survey conducted in Yogyakarta kindergartens, a common point discussed in the Hearing was FKG UGM policies regarding ongoing socialization so that all members of the academic community, including students, know and understand the purpose of these policies.

The Dean emphasized that this moment is highly meaningful for the sustainability of the ecosystem at FKG UGM going forward. Representatives of BEM KM UGM conveyed several important points, including: the development of facilities and infrastructure, updates to academic governance, student activities, and the establishment of a mental health service unit. Hearing or listening sessions are routinely conducted by the Dean and BEM KM FKG UGM. These sessions are held as a form of synchronization of various processes and policies within FKG UGM, as well as a way to strengthen partnerships and good relations between students and faculty leaders, working together to achieve continuous improvement in the quality of education.
