The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), successfully held the Orthonigma Seminar 2024 with the theme “Advancement in Orthodontics” on 13-14 December 2024, at The Rich Hotel Yogyakarta. The event brought together orthodontic residents, specialist orthodontists, professionals, and academics interested in the latest developments in orthodontics.
Organized in collaboration with the Alumni Association, the seminar featured renowned speakers from Indonesia and abroad. They covered a wide range of topics, from cutting-edge technologies in orthodontic treatment to new approaches in diagnosis and clinical case management. The interactive sessions provided participants with the opportunity to engage in discussions and gain direct insights from experts.
One of the main highlights of the seminar was the exhibition of the latest orthodontic tools and technologies. Participants had the chance to observe, test, and discuss with representatives from leading orthodontic companies, fostering opportunities for collaboration and innovation in clinical practice.
Through this seminar, FKG UGM not only enhanced the knowledge and skills of orthodontic residents but also strengthened connections between alumni and practitioners. This commitment aligns with efforts to advance orthodontic science in Indonesia and improve the quality of dental and oral healthcare nationwide.
The Orthonigma Seminar 2024 reaffirmed FKG UGM’s position as a leading dental education institution in Indonesia and its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event supported: SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – by improving dental healthcare services; SDG 4: Quality Education – by providing high-quality, advanced orthodontic education; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – by introducing the latest innovations in orthodontics; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – by fostering collaboration among academics, professionals, and industry partners.
