On Thursday (8/8/2024), the Department of Oral Medicine (IPM) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held a welcoming event for new students of the Oral Medicine Specialist Program.
The event began with an introduction session by the IPM Department staff, providing new students with the opportunity to get to know the lecturers and staff who will guide them throughout their studies.
Next, Dr. drg. Dewi Agustina, MDSc., as the Head of the IPM Department, provided an orientation on the vision and mission of the Faculty, Department, and Study Program. She also presented the research and community service roadmap, which is an integral part of the curriculum in the Oral Medicine Specialist Program.

Additionally, new students received an overview of the curriculum and learning process they will undergo during their education.
This presentation was delivered directly by drg. Hendri Susanto, M.Kes, Ph.D., Sp. PM, as the Head of the Study Program. This information serves as an important foundation for students to understand their academic journey.
The event, which took place in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, concluded with a lunch gathering, strengthening relationships between students and staff and fostering a familial environment that supports future learning.
This new student welcoming event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, which ensures inclusive and quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for all.
With quality education, it is hoped that students will be able to make significant contributions to improving dental and oral health in Indonesia.
