On Tuesday (9/5/2023), the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) welcomed a visit from the Indonesian College of Oral Medicine (KIPMI) as part of the preparation for the operational launch of the Specialist Dental Education Program (PPDGS) in Oral Diseases.
This visitation is one of the crucial stages that the Department of Oral Medicine (IPM) at FKG UGM must undergo before officially opening its new specialist study program.
Among the representatives from KIPMI who attended were Prof. Dr. drg. Irna Sufiawati, Sp. PM, Subsp. Inf. (K)., Prof. Dr. drg. Diah Savitri Ernawati, M.Si., Sp. PM, Subsp. Inf. (K)., Dr. drg. Harum Sasanti, Sp. PM, Subsp. Non-Inf. (K)., Dr. drg. Desiana Radhitia, Sp. PM, Subsp. Inf. (K)., and Dr. drg. Indriasti Indah Wardhany, Sp. PM, Subsp. Inf. (K).
The purpose of this visitation was to assess FKG UGM’s readiness in terms of facilities, curriculum, and human resources that will support the implementation of the new study program.
Through this process, it is hoped that the upcoming study program will meet established standards and be capable of producing competent and high-integrity specialist dentists in oral diseases.
This stage is one of the primary processes undertaken by the Department of Oral Medicine at FKG UGM in its effort to establish the Specialist Dental Study Program in Oral Diseases.
With the support from KIPMI, FKG UGM is increasingly optimistic that this specialist program can soon be operational and make a significant contribution to dental and oral health in Indonesia.
The College provided valuable input and guidance regarding the next steps in establishing the Specialist Dental Study Program in Oral Diseases at FKG UGM.
This visitation also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
