Revolutionizing Dental Health: A New Era of Conservative Dentistry at the IKORGI VII National Seminar

The Indonesian Association of Conservative Dentistry (IKORGI) successfully held the 7th National Scientific Seminar with the theme “Revolutionizing Dental Health Care with the New Era in Conservative Dentistry.”The event took place on Friday, 12 October 2024, at Gran Senyiur Hotel, Balikpapan. It was attended by lecturers from the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), residents from various universities across Indonesia, and professionals in conservative dentistry. This seminar aimed to explore the latest innovations and approaches in conservative dentistry to enhance public healthcare services and improve the quality of dental education.

The event featured keynote speakers such as Prof. Paul V. Abbott, Dr. drg. Aditya Wisnu Putranto, Sp.KG, and Dr. drg. Widya Saraswati, Sp.KG, M.Kes, who discussed engaging topics including the management of C-shaped canals, the application of bioceramics in endodontics, and innovations in universal adhesives for natural tooth restoration. These discussions not only provided new insights for participants but also encouraged evidence-based clinical practices in line with advancements in dental health technology.

Dr. drg. Widya Saraswati, Sp.KG, M.Kes, one of the keynote speakers, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in conservative dentistry. “The new era of conservative dentistry is not just about technology but also about how we educate and apply knowledge to improve people’s quality of life,” she stated.

Participants also had the opportunity to discuss digital technology in dental care, the latest regenerative materials, and more effective minimally invasive approaches. These interactive discussions fostered strong collaborations among dental health professionals while enriching their knowledge of continuous innovation in dental healthcare.

The IKORGI VII National Seminar served as a crucial momentum to strengthen professional networks, share knowledge, and advance innovation in the field of conservative dentistry. Through this event, FKG UGM contributed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
