Support Sustainable Development through Collaboration

The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) is striving to strengthen global collaboration in the field of dentistry through a transparent and accessible partnership agreement process. This initiative aligns with the university's goals related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting international partnerships for sustainable development.

Bernadetha Ayu, a staff member of the FKG UGM Cooperation Unit, stated that FKG UGM is open to collaboration opportunities with various institutions and organizations both domestically and internationally. “Applicants are required to submit an official letter to the Dean of FKG UGM, accompanied by a proposal detailing the objectives and scope of the collaboration.” The proposal must explain the mutual benefits that demonstrate alignment with FKG UGM's mission, particularly regarding improvements in education, research, and community service in the field of dentistry.

Once received, proposals will undergo a review process to assess their relevance to the faculty's strategy. As an additional option, the faculty may also request clarification or additional information to ensure a clear understanding between both parties. After approval, the next step is drafting a formal cooperation agreement that outlines the terms, roles, duration, and resource allocation for the partnership.

According to Bernadetha, the signing of the cooperation agreement marks the beginning of official collaboration. “FKG UGM emphasizes the importance of open communication during the partnership to ensure that goals are achieved and any arising challenges are addressed,” she stated.

This initiative demonstrates FKG UGM's commitment to building a strong global network, sharing knowledge, and contributing to advancements in education and research in the field of dentistry. With an accessible process, the faculty showcases its dedication to sustainable development within the dental profession.

Thus, the collaboration mechanisms implemented by FKG UGM align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
