Supporting Digital Dentistry, FKG UGM Introduces 3D Intraoral Aoralscan 3

The continuous advancement of digital technology is driving innovation across various sectors, including dentistry. Now, the creation of various types of prosthodontics can utilize 3D scanning technology. The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a training session on the Shining 3D Intraoral Aoralscan 3 on September 3, 2024. This event underscores FKG UGM’s commitment to incorporating cutting-edge dental technology into the learning process.

Dean’s Remarks

In his opening remarks, the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. Dr. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D.highlighted the importance of synergy between education and technology in shaping the future of dentistry. “The use of technology such as the Shining 3D Aoralscan 3 not only enhances treatment effectiveness but is also a key element in creating high-quality education and infrastructure that supports innovation in the dental industry,” said Prof. Suryono.

About the Training

The training, held in collaboration with PT Cobra Dental, the official distributor of Shining 3D in Indonesia, provided training for lecturers from all departments at FKG UGM. Participants were introduced to the key features of Aoralscan 3, including high-accuracy intraoral scanning, seamless data integration, and ease of operation. Through this technology, FKG UGM aims to prepare healthcare professionals who are not only competent but also able to adapt to the ever-evolving demands of the dental industry.

Anggit Adi Wijaya, Head of Regional Sales at PT Cobra Dental Indonesia, noted that this training was not just about introducing a new tool, but about how technology can be leveraged to enhance education and advance the dental industry. “By involving strong infrastructure support, we can build a solid foundation for the future of dentistry,” Anggit stated.

In addition to presentations and equipment demonstrations, there was a Q&A session that gave participants the opportunity to understand the practical applications of this technology in daily clinical practice. Discussions also focused on how the use of this technology can improve patient experiences, treatment efficiency, and, overall, the quality of services in the dental industry.

Going forward, this equipment will be available for FKG UGM students to use during their practical sessions. With the introduction of this tool, students will gain new learning experiences and enhanced convenience.
