The Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program took part in the Postgraduate Research Day 2024 at Universiti Sains Malaysia on 2 July 2024. This event served as a platform for postgraduate students from various health faculties to share knowledge and research under the theme “Research for Health Sustainability.”
Representatives from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), also participated in the event. Drg. Arif Rahman Setyawan, a student in the Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program, presented his research titled “Malocclusion in Primary Dentition: Early Detection of Oral Habits Contribution.”
Additionally, drg. Sri Kuswandari, M.S., Sp.KGA.(K), Ph.D., a lecturer in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, delivered a guest lecture on “Impact of Space Maintainers on Oral Development and Growth / Interceptive Orthodontics.”
A key highlight of the PGRD 2024 was the “3 Minute Pitch Competition”, featuring master’s, doctoral, and Ph.D. students. This event aimed to encourage students to present their research briefly and clearly, emphasizing that today’s research should have a positive impact on future generations.
Through PGRD, it is hoped that closer collaboration can be fostered among higher education institutions in the health field, supporting research sustainability for improved health outcomes.
