Twelve residents from the Periodontics Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), have successfully passed the National Competency Examination held on 20 June 2024. The examination included participants from several prestigious universities in Indonesia, such as UI, UNHAS, and USU.
The exam consisted of two stages : the Computer Based Test (CBT) and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The assessment was conducted by both internal and external examiners, with Prof. Dr. Sri Oktawati, drg., Sp.Perio (K) from the Postgraduate Program in Periodontics at Universitas Hasanuddin serving as an external examiner.
“This satisfying result is a clear indication that the learning process we implement in the Periodontics Postgraduate Program at FKG UGM is effective. The residents have been equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to face the competency exam,” said Drg. Kwartarini Murdiastuti, Sp.Perio., SubSp.R.P.I.D(K)., Ph.D., Chair of the Periodontics Specialist Program at FKG UGM.
With all the exam participants passing, FKG UGM further solidifies its position as one of the leading dental education institutions in Indonesia. It is hoped that the graduates will actively contribute to improving the quality of dental and oral health services.
