Lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) participated in the Magnet International Symposium held from 7-9 July 2024, in Nagoya, Japan. The event, organized by Magne Design Company, was specifically aimed at prosthodontics experts from around the world. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the use of magnetic technology in dentistry, particularly within the field of prosthodontics.
The UGM delegation included drg. Intan Ruspita, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.Pros(K), drg. Adella Syvia Maharani, MDSc., Sp.Pros, and drg. M. Fadyl Yunizar, MPH., PhD. During the symposium, the UGM delegates not only attended presentations by experts but also visited the Magne Design Research Center. This visit provided deeper insights into the ongoing research and development of magnetic technology.
The Magne Design Research Center is an institution focused on the development and innovation of magnetic technology, especially in its application to dentistry. The research center likely has advanced facilities and equipment for conducting research, experiments, and trials related to the use of magnets in various types of dental treatments.
“We are very excited to participate in this event,” said drg. Intan Ruspita. “We have gained a wealth of new knowledge, particularly about the application of magnetic technology in clinical practice. We hope the knowledge we acquired will benefit the development of prosthodontics in Indonesia,” she added.
The presence of prosthodontics experts from UGM at the Magnet International Symposium is an important step in expanding their knowledge and skills in magnetic technology in dentistry. Through collaboration and learning from international experts, it is hoped that the research and technologies developed can be implemented in Indonesia to enhance the quality of dental healthcare services.
