Two programs within the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) have earned the “Excellent” accreditation status from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes). The two programs are the Bachelor of Dental Science Program and the Dental Professional Program.
The “Excellent” accreditation status reflects the alignment of FKG UGM’s policies and higher education standards with the established quality indicators. It also underscores the graduates' ability to provide health practices that meet community needs.
The accreditation assessment took place from 24 to 27 June 2024, with a team of assessors from LAM-PTKes, including drg. Sri Angky Soekanto, Ph.D., Dr. drg. Hendra Dian Adhita Dharsono, Sp.KG(K), and Prof. drg. Mohammad Dharma Utama, PhD., Sp.Pros., SubSp.PKIKG (K). The assessors conducted a thorough evaluation of various aspects of the programs, such as curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, educational outcomes, and community service and research initiatives supported by adequate resources.

Dyah Listyarifah, M.Sc., D.Med.Sci, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit at FKG UGM, stated that this achievement reflects FKG UGM's commitment to providing high-quality education that meets international standards. The “Excellent” accreditation status positions FKG UGM as a leading institution in dental education in Indonesia.
In addition to its focus on academic excellence, FKG UGM is committed to producing graduates who are not only professionally skilled but also responsible citizens. The curriculum integrates sustainability principles aimed at preparing future dentists to tackle modern health challenges while considering the environmental impact of their practices.
