A total of 128 students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Tuban, accompanied by 13 supervising teachers, conducted a study visit to the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta on 5 November 2025. The visit was received by Dyana Rakhmasari Kusumaningsih, S.E., M.Ec. Dev., as the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Working Team of FKG UGM. The visit aimed to provide insight and inspiration for the students regarding the world of higher education, particularly in the field of dental and oral health.

Expanding Career Insights
The study visit to FKG UGM, which is one of the leading faculties of dentistry in Indonesia, is expected to broaden the horizons of MAN 1 Tuban students regarding career prospects as dentists, researchers, or other oral health professionals.
The Principal of MAN 1 Tuban, in her remarks, stated that this activity is part of the school’s curriculum program to prepare students for higher education.
“We hope that by directly seeing the facilities and listening to presentations from FKG UGM academics, our students will gain a clear picture of the challenges and opportunities in the field of dentistry. This is a concrete step in helping them determine their post-graduation study choices,” said one representative of the delegation.
Explanation of FKG UGM Student Admissions
The MAN 1 Tuban delegation was warmly welcomed by FKG UGM staff. During the reception session, the faculty reportedly provided a comprehensive presentation covering:
- The profile and history of FKG UGM.
- The curriculum structure of the Dental Education Study Program (S.Ked.) and the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program (SKM), if relevant.
- Available facilities , such as laboratories, teaching clinics, and research centers.
- The admission selection process and tips for successfully gaining acceptance into FKG UGM.
The students appeared enthusiastic during the question-and-answer session, demonstrating their strong interest in health sciences. Visits such as this are routinely conducted by various schools to encourage high-achieving students to develop strong motivation to pursue higher education.
