All About the Opening of the 15th LUSTRUM of FKG UGM, from Fashion Parade to FKG’s Got Talent

It's hard to believe that the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, will soon turn 75. Certainly, as one of the pioneering faculties of Universitas Gadjah Mada, which at that time was still merged with the Faculty of Medicine, it has gone through many ups and downs in the field of education. As its age increases, FKG UGM has also produced many dental doctors throughout Indonesia.

In celebrating its 75th anniversary, several interesting activities will be held. The activities begin with the opening event of the 75th Anniversary of FKG UGM or the 15th LUSTRUM of FKG UGM (2/10), held in the backyard of the Dental Learning Center (DLC) Building with the theme "Creation, Innovation, and Downstreaming for FKG Independence". Without losing the spirit of togetherness, this year's celebration sees the entire academic community in full preparation.

The opening event started with a welcoming speech by the Dean of FKG UGM, followed by a report on the activities by the chair of the 75th LUSTRUM, drg. Heni Susilowati, M.Kes., Ph.D. It was then closed with remarks from the chair of KAKGIGAMA Alumni, drg. drg. Basoeki Soetardjo, MMR, represented by drg. Owin Bambang Wijanarko, Sp.Pros, MARS.

The event continued with a fashion parade involving all departments and programs within FKG UGM, including student units, and also the delegation from RSGM UGM Prof Soedomo. Each participant wore costumes according to the theme. This moment was also joined by the deans who did not want to miss the chance to appear in superhero costumes, followed by the performances of participants in FKG’s Got Talent. Each participant performed enthusiastically and joyfully to entertain. The atmosphere became livelier with prizes and door prizes distributed to the academic community.

At the end of the event, the winners of the Fashion Parade and FKG’s Got Talent were announced. The end of the event was a surprise for the graduating students, as 67 students who took the Competency Test for Dental Doctor Profession Program in January 2023 were declared to have a 100% pass rate.
