Three lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM, were appointed as Professors on Thursday (4/1). The three lecturers are Prof. Dr. drg. Titik Ismiyati, M.S., Sp.Pros, Subsp. CPDI(K) appointed as Professor in Prosthodontics, Prof. Dr. drg. Siti Sunarintyas, M.Kes appointed as Professor in Biomaterials, and Prof. drg. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D. appointed as Professor in Periodontics.
The inauguration process took place at the Senate Hall, UGM Central Building, starting with Prof. Titik's speech entitled "Chitosan Natural Material Rich in Medical Applications (A Study in Prosthodontics)." The subsequent speeches were delivered by Prof. Sunarintyas on "Composite Resin Material for Dental Care from the Past to the New Era" and Prof. Suryono on "Preventing Periodontal Disease through Maintaining Oral Microbiome Balance and Surface Environment Manipulation." The simultaneous inauguration ceremony, the first of its kind held by UGM, proceeded smoothly and was solemnly attended by all invited guests.
The ceremony was attended by several officials, colleagues, and guests including the Chairman of the Indonesian Prosthodontics College, Prof. drg. Moh. Dharma Utama, Ph.D., Sp.Pros(K), the former UGM Rector for the period 2017-2022 Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng., the Vice Rector I of Universitas Trisakti Prof. Ir. Asri Nugrahanti, M.S., Ph.D., IPU., the Indonesian Medical Council Prof. Dr. drg. Melanie S. Djamil, M.Biomed., Prof. Dr. drg. Yosi Kusuma Eriwati, M.Si. from Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Hibnu Nugroho, S.H.,M.Hum., the Faculty of Law of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, as well as Prof. Dr. drg. Intan Nirwana, M.Kes. and several other Professors from Universitas Airlangga.
Turut hadir dalam agenda secara luring beberapa kolega diantaranya Rektor Universitas Baiturrahmah Prof. Dr. Ir Musliar Kasim, M.S., dosen dari Tokushima University diantaranya adalah Prof. Otto Baba, Prof. Kawamura Yasuhiko, Prof. Toshihiko Nagata, Prof. Yumito Hiromichi, dan kolega lainnya. Ucapan selamat juga turut disampaikan diantaranya oleh ketua KAKGIGAMA drg. Endro Sucahyono, M.Kes, Rektor Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar Dr. Drs. I Made Sukamerta, M.Pd., Rektor Universitas Islam Sultan Agung Prof. Dr. H. Gunarto, SH., M.Hum., Fakultas Hukum Universitas Widya Mataram Dr. Kelik Endro Suryono, SH., M.Hum.
Dengan dikukuhkannya 3 guru besar kali ini membuktikan komitmen FKG UGM dalam mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) terutama tujuan ke-4 tentang Pendidikan yang Berkualitas serta tujuan ke-9 tentang Industri, Inovasi dan Infrastruktur.
Hopefully, the appointment of three Professors will enable the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM, to contribute more to the advancement of dentistry in Indonesia.
